From the LMU Hockey Website:
"Lions Make History... In a drastic reversal of fortune from the previous night, the Lions came out and played one of their stronger games of the season in the home finale. The previous night, LMU hung tough at CSULB's home final, keeping the game within 2 thoughout the end of the second period. However, early in the third, LMU's Dylan Milo received a 5 minute major penalty and CSULB capitalized scoring 4 goals on the power play. The game got out of hand, with 2 players from each team receiving DQ's, including LMU's Chris Mallaber and James Melaugh, both for fighting.
The next night was a different story, as LMU came flying out of the gate. It was senior night, Captain Chris Miller and Jeremy Birenbaum's last game as Lion's. LMU had never won a senior game before this night, losing twice to UCLA and once to Pepperdine. The team was determined to go out a winner, and led throughout, eventually winning 6-4. The scoring was spread out throughout the Lion's lineup, with Kevin Keomanee-Dizon leading the way with 2 goals. Other scorers for the Lions were Jim McDonald, Travis Amick, Nick Cruz and Dylan Milo. Tyler Payne had his best game of the season, stopping 43 of 47 shots. Thanks to all the fans who came out to the final game of the year, and to our Seniors Chris Miller, Jeremy Birenbaum and our great helpers Carmela Birenbaum and Adele Tipon. Please continue to check back during the summer for updates on the Lion's next season. Enjoy the off season, and go Lions!!"
